I have always been fascinated by hamsas. The Hamsa Hand in all faiths is a protective sign that brings it’s owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. I have seen so many gorgeous designs that other artists have made in the hamsas and I thought it might be fun to create my own doodled design for the front of a greeting card.
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I had my husband draw a hamsa on the computer which I printed out on white cardstock. I then cut out the shape with scissors. Another option would be to find some clipart online that you can print.
The first design I added to the hamsa was an eye. Most hamsas include one and the Many Faces stencil was perfect for this. I used a Sharpie pen to trace the eye shape and then filled it in.
The next stencil I used was the Loopy Flower Fragment. Again, just tracing the shapes that fit around the eye.
The final stencil I used was the Daisy Window Fragment for the top of the three fingers. I then filled in all of the stencil shapes with a few doodle marks to tie everything together.
The final step was to attach the hamsa design to a piece of shimmery pink cardstock with pop dots and then attach the pink cardstock to a plain white card.
There are so many stencils that I could have chosen to help me doodle the hamsa design, that I will never run out of ideas to make more!
