Buying a new home has to be one of the most stressful situations I have dealt with in a long time. We are in the middle of the mortgage fun and still waiting for some definitive answers! As I seem to do during times like these, I turned to my art journal.

So I turned to one of my favorite monthly prompts for help…Mission Inspiration from Mike Deakin. Follow along to see how I created this page…

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.

Prompt #2: Add thin layer of colored paint • I used watered down acrylic in pink and yellow to add a wash over the entire page.

Prompt #4: Add journaling, quote or phrase • A quick hand written phrase on a scrap of paper completed this prompt.

Prompt #6: Add a focal image • I wanted to add more to my phrase, so choose to make my focal image a large word I had found in a magazine.

Prompt #7: Add washi tape or strips of patterned paper • I ripped up a few pieces of wide washi tape to create the strips at the bottom of the page.

Prompt #10: Finish with a white border • It is hard to see in the picture above but you can refer to the first picture of the finished page to see that I added a series of large white dots and a scalloped edge to border the entire art journal page.

As always, working in my journal along with a bit of help was time well spent and helped alleviate some of the crazy stress happening right now!
