Here is what Rachel has to say about her lesson:
If any season was made for watercolors then it has to be Fall. Green leaves are painted in splotches of red, yellow and brown. Pumpkins arrive on doorsteps, each one plump and streaked in every shade of orange. And the last of the summer flowers seem to shimmer with the brightest yellows.
Painting these fall favorites in loose, easy watercolors can capture the amazing color transformation that is happening all around us right now!
In this class, we’ll focus on three subjects — a bright autumn leaf, a glowing yellow flower and a plump pumpkin — using watercolor techniques that allow the colors to bleed and drift into each other. We’ll experiment with wet-on-wet painting, dotting the paint, sweeping the brush in big loose strokes, and balancing color with white space. We’ll finish with some paint spatters, and a few outlines in colored pencil or ink pen.
This class is great for artists of any skill level! My goal is that everyone has a good time, makes a bit of a mess, and comes away with some really colorful, one-of-a-kind fall art!
