an in-person art retreat
Pendleton, SC
April 30-May 2, 2027
This 2.5-day art retreat is an invitation to pause, breathe, and create in community.
The retreat is for the creative soul who’s ready to slow down, reconnect,
and simply play with paint, paper, and possibility.
✨ When was the last time you connected to your creativity?
You know that spark — the one that wakes up when you’re lost in color, texture, and play. The part of you that feels most like you.
During the It's Just Paper! retreat, we’ll slow down, breathe, and make space for that spark again. Together, we’ll spend a weekend reconnecting with creativity through art journaling, curiosity, and a touch of magic.
I truly loved this art journal Retreat with Consie Sindet. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned so many new techniques and ideas that I’m excited to keep using. Consie, is an amazing teacher—so generous with her knowledge, her time, and all the materials she provided. She created a space that felt welcoming, relaxed, and inspiring. The group was also very special. It was such a kind and supportive circle, and we all connected in a meaningful way, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I’m very grateful I took this Retreat and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore their creativity.
The HELLO THERE RETREAT (2026) was like a tall glass of ice water after a long day in the sun-Refreshing, Invigorating, and Soothing for the Soul. Each day Consie guided us through the thoughtful and intuitive process of creating our own multilayered spiral journal using everything, but the kitchen sink. Seriously, this journal has no limits and can be added to as time goes on. Consie, was a fantastic teacher/guide who encouraged each of us to tap into our inner knowing of self expression by asking inquisitive questions, then demonstrated various techniques to apply to our process of designing each unique page. This retreat offered two and half days of discovery, inspiration, connection, and delightful playtime with all the supplies and tools one could imagine. I walked away feeling refreshed with a new outlook on how I approach my creativity. Being in community was the extra bonus after only seeing one another on zoom. This is the art retreat that heals the heart and let’s you be you. Thank you, Consie.
This retreat was such a beautiful reset. It was exactly what I needed. It gave me space to slow down, reconnect with creativity, and just be a person again instead of always being “on” and focused on the to-do list, the housework, and everything else that needs to get done. The environment felt so supportive, and I left feeling inspired and deeply connected to myself and to a group of kind, genuine women. It’s rare to find something that feels this restorative and meaningful.

I was so excited when you announced that you were having one, and even more excited to know I could attend! What a wonderful opportunity to share a weekend with a roomful of creatives, getting to know some of them as everyone shared their ideas, energy, and spirit. I learned so much! You were a great and generous host. I had so much fun seeing each demo, trying it out, using all your many supplies. And on top of that, we all received such a fabulous goodie bag with supplies to last a long time!!! Oh my gosh Consie. I cannot thank you enough. I will be there for the next retreat.
Retreat – where does one start? The time spent learning, creating and exploring new ideas was wonderful. Consie, you had our time so well organized as well as the different projects that sparked creativity in ways that were completely new to me. The women in this group had such kind energy – we all could be ourselves. The venue and the city location were perfect – you could walk to eat or get a coffee as well as shop if you were so inclined. I became in intrigued by the gelli printing – I have purchased 2 plates, following your YouTube class – I created 20 sheets on my first try!! Thank you for a truly wonderful retreat and am looking forward to next years. Added BONUS – I made a new friend (or more).
I am a total beginner at art/junk journaling and now I am excited to keep going! Consie created the safest container over our weekend together, and she gave everyone permission to be themselves and to try new things. And the supplies! She brought her entire studio and took the time to demonstrate everything. It was a total joy to discover so many different tools and techniques I never knew existed. The encouragement and kindness from everyone in the room made it such a comfortable space to create, play, and learn. I kept saying that I felt like I had found my people, and I still feel that way today. Thank you, Consie!
