This year (2017) seems to be my year for participating in daily art challenges. Some of the challenges only last a month, but I’ve also been working on a daily year long challenge that has a prompt attached to each day. I’ve discovered that The Crafter’s Workshop stencils have been a fabulous source of inspiration for many of the prompts and wanted to share some of those art journal pages with you today!
Prompt: Red • Stencil: One Way
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.
Along with all of the new stencils, I used TCW’s new heavy body acrylics. They are fabulous to stencil with. Add in the different types of modeling paste and Shimmery Goodness, and I had a ton of inspiration, colors and textures to draw from for each challenge prompt!
Top left prompt: Star • Stencil: Positivity
Top right prompt: Dainty • Stencil: Flower Tangle
Bottom left prompt: Stack • Stencil: Tiled Flower, Spiral Staircase (there are more but I can’t remember them! I just kept stacking the stencils!)
Bottom right prompt: Girl • Stencil: Amalia
Prompt: Lines • Stencil: Mondrian-esque
Prompt: Fish • Stencil: Tribal Fish
Prompt: Texture • Stencil: Celebration, Four Feathers
Prompt: Birthday • Stencil: Fantasy Sphere, Happy Greetings
Prompt: Orange • Stencil: Butterfly Trail
As you can see, I was able to draw so much inspiration from the stencil patterns. I hope this gives you some ideas on how to incorporate stencils into your daily art practice! You can find me adding pictures of my daily art over on Instagram…
