Due to a bit of procrastination on my part, I ended up sending my niece her Christmas present yesterday! Since it is a bit past the holiday, I decided to wrap her gift in some homemade winter snowflake wrapping paper.
The wrapping paper definitely suits this winter in NJ…it will not stop snowing!!! And, it is an easy project to create.
I started with a piece of brown Kraft paper, some FolkArt acrylic paints in shades of turquoise and a large flat brush. Randomly picking up paint as I went, I slip-slapped the colors onto the Kraft paper, leaving some of the brown showing through.
Once it was dry, I used a white paint pen to draw snowflakes, swirls and dots all over the background color. I also completely forgot to take pictures of that part…sorry!
With a bit of baker’s twine and some silver curling ribbon, my gift was just perfect!
Do you have a birthday or celebration to wrap a gift for this season? This DIY winter wrapping paper would be an easy solution! And, because it is handmade, it will make the gift that much more special.
I link up at these great parties!
