Last week I shared a Rainbow Butterfly face paint that is perfect for girls. Boys, however, are not always so keen on the whole butterfly thing! Too girly!! So I came up with three different takes on the butterfly using super popular boy designs…tigers, skulls and Spiderman. All of the designs use the same products as the rainbow butterfly and follow similar steps, so be sure to take a look at the tutorial for some pointers.
The Tiger-fly starts with the same white base. Then you add orange face paint to the outside edges. Using a round brush, finish with black tiger stripes on the wings and a stripe as the body of the butterfly.
The Skuller-fly again starts with white face paint, then lightly add black to the eyes. Use your round brush to add an eyebrow, some wrinkles, the nose, and light crack lines as a outline and for the antenna.
The Spider-fly is a white base with red face paint added to the outside. Again, using the round brush, add the outline around the white eyes, the lines for the spiderweb, and the spider for the butterfly body. Finally, add some white highlights.
Depending on the age of the boys, glitter (make sure it is cosmetic glitter) is always an option. There is an age when being sparkly is still fun!!! …and an age when there is NO WAY the boys are getting glitter!!
I hope you have some guys (and girls) in your world that would be thrilled to have these faces! I know my models had a great time!
