Yesterday I showed you how to make St Patrick’s Day cupcakes that included a green shamrock on the top. These chocolate Celtic knot shamrocks are super easy to make!
The supplies you need are: a cookie sheet, waxed paper, green Wilton candy melts
, a decorating bag
to melt the chocolate in, and a couple patterns of Celtic knot shamrocks that you find appealing.
I googled Celtic knot patterns online and printed out two that I liked and that I felt would be fairly easy to make with the chocolate. The paper patterns went under a piece of waxed paper on top of a cookie sheet. I melted the chocolate in the microwave (according to the directions on the Wilton package) in a decorating bag, snipped off the end just a tiny bit, and then piped all my shamrocks! Easy!
The chocolate hardens just by leaving it out. However, since I had a lot to make, I popped my cookie sheet into the freezer for a couple minutes to speed up the process. If you have never piped chocolate before, you might need to practice a bit but even the “bad” shamrocks can be eaten!
Once you get the hang of working with the candy melts, you will find all sorts of things you can use them for! You can check out some of my other projects here to get some ideas.
