Doodling on my yoga mat inspired me to try out my fabric markers and paint on a white t-shirt!
The t-shirt had a couple of stains on it so it was the perfect canvas to experiment on.
I started off with a black Sharpie fabric marker, using the tip to draw with and the side of the marker to add some shading.
I then used fabric paint to add some pretty colors to the henna-inspired designs I created. These fabric paints come in a spray bottle so I squeezed a little onto a foam plate and used a paint brush to add it onto the t-shirt material.
I love all the colors and the black doodles covered up all the stains! Now I have a new shirt to wear to yoga.
The picture above was taken before I washed the t-shirt. So, after washing the t-shirt, here’s what I would do different next time. I would expect some fading and darken all of the doodles and painting. That’s it. There was a small amount of fading with my black shading and the colors all lightened up but nothing washed away like I have heard can happen with regular Sharpies. These Stained by Sharpie Brush Tip Fabric Markers were a good find!
Have you tried these markers? What was your experience with using markers to decorate t-shirts?
I link up at these great parties!
