I recently moved into a studio space that is separate from where I live and it is an amazing space to work! However, since I moved all of my art supplies there, I have found that I now need to keep some doodling tools handy to bring back and forth.
So, here’s a look at what is in my on the go doodling kit! I have added and taken away quite a few things and I’m sure the kit will always be evolving depending on what I am doing. But for now, let’s see what I am currently loving…
First of all, the canvas pouch I have everything stored in is by Alisa Burke. You can find your own one-of-a kind painted canvas pouch here!
Starting on the left I have: a Stablio marks all pencil; a #2 pencil; a 3H Derwent graphic pencil; a white water-based paint pen; a white oil-based paint pen; a black paint pen; a Bic Wite-Out correction pen
; Micron pens
in #01, #03 & #05 sizes; a ball point pen; a water brush
, a black ultra-fine Sharpie; a black fine tip Infinity marker.
I also added a pair of scissors, an X-acto knife, a glue stick and permanent glue tape. I do have an eraser as well but it seems to be missing at the moment!
So that I can add some color to the sketches, I made up an easy watercolor palette based on an idea from Elvie Studio. I used my watercolor pencils to color a square on watercolor paper. When I need a pop of color, I just use my water brush to activate the color of choice and paint away! The 2 pieces of paper (along with a folded piece of paper towel) easily fit into the pouch with my pens.
Of course, you can’t forget the most important thing…the sketchbook itself
! I am always on the hunt for a fun new doodling supply, so if you have a recommendation of one of your favorites, leave me a comment below. I’m sure I can still find some room in my on the go doodling kit!
I link up at these great parties!
