I have this little side table that I created for a blog post a few years ago. Unfortunately it has definitely seen better days from living out on my front porch. So a little transformation was in order!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I had my husband spray paint the entire table with white acrylic paint. I didn’t sand down any of the imperfections or the old design on the table. You can still see all of them in the picture above. I then added to all that texture by using modeling paste and the 6×6 Tangled Web stencil.
To add color, I sprayed DecoArt Media Misters and Tumble Dye inks over the surface of the table, wiping a bit of color off here and there.
More mixed media was added to the table in the form of random bits of book text and ripped pieces of Gelli® printed deli paper…all glued down with matte medium.
Once everything was dry, I decided the design was a bit bright for me. To soften the color, I drybrushed the surface of the table with white acrylic paint, concentrating on the edges the most. It created a super soft effect that I just loved! Now I have a new piece of home decor art for my home.
