I’ve always known that changing your mindset will change your outlook on your life. But…just because I know that doesn’t mean I actually do it!
Like many of you, my husband and I struggle daily…with finances, our (many) careers, our not so great apartment, our health. I can feel stuck working at jobs that are bleh because I have to; stuck in an apartment that is bleh because that’s what we can afford right now. I made it through 2014 by repeatedly falling back on my word for the year, faith. Faith that no matter what, we were on the right path to get past the bleh! It worked. I found the beauty and purpose in the path we are following and my outlook for our future brightened. But, I decided that I needed more of a change.
At the beginning of this year, I made a conscious decision to treat my life and everything in it with pleasure and gratitude. It is not always easy but really…we have jobs, shelter, cars, friends and food on the table.
When I start to feel annoyed at our life’s direction, I remind myself to bring it back to the basics and approach it all with pleasure and gratitude. Let’s just enjoy the journey…
