Welcome back to Time in my sketchbook where I film myself at play in my studio!

Time in my sketchbook • Visit the blog to see my mixed media art journal time lapse video • AtopSerenityHill.com #mixedmedia #artjournaling #doodlingI started with a page that I’d used to clean off one of my handmade stamps.

Time in my sketchbook • Visit the blog to see my mixed media art journal time lapse video • AtopSerenityHill.com #mixedmedia #artjournaling #doodlingThe inspiration for the colors on the page came from the quote I tore out of a design magazine. I set the timer for 20 minutes and when it went off, I stopped and called it done. The blip near the beginning of the video happened when I hit the tripod holding the camera while looking for my white paint! Note to self: keep all the supplies in front of you! Enjoy!

Supplies used include: Canson Multi Media Paper Pad; Inktense pencils; Uhu glue stick; Infinity markers; BIC Wite-Out Shake -N Squeeze Correction Pen; Painters Paint Markers; acrylic paint; stray ephemera; large flat brush.

I link up at these great parties!

Love the play, the color, the looseness, and especially that you started this with some clean up stamping!

Consie – loved the video – so inspiring! I’ve not played with my stamps, stencils and acrylics in a long time and I can see I need to take them out for a little while this weekend and just let something happen! Your work is beautiful!

Thanks so much, Telva! I love the play aspect of the time I spend. BTW…popped around on your website and you work is lovely!!! I would love to watch you work on a video. Something to think about…

So I would like to ask do you have an idea in mind when you begin? I mean do you have a goal or does it just come as you go along? I love the results. I have been doing sketchbooks but not like that. I would like to try it. How did you get started making and selling things with your art on it, you do some lovely things. Just interested,
    Janice

      Hi Janice,
I always have a general idea when I start just so that I can have some supplies around me but the idea is more about the colors I want to use or a quote I want to add. The rest just comes to me as I go along. Putting myself on a time limit makes me just react instead of second guessing everything I might do on the page. Whatever happens, happens!
I have been selling art for 20 years! Most of it has been at craft shows. More recently I have started dabbling in online sales with Society6 and Etsy. We’ll see how that goes! Thanks for asking. Have a fab day!
