Hi everyone! I feel like September flew by and with my work schedule the days are melting into each other! I did have a chance recently to work on some projects for Halloween and wanted to share one of them with you today.
creepyeleganthalloweencenterpieceThis arrangement was inspired by one I saw by Martha Stewart. However, Martha’s was done with a dozen cream roses and those were definitely not in the budget!!
hydrangeatreeMy neighbor’s gorgeous 100 year old hydrangea tree provided the flowers. The crystal vase was a wedding gift many years ago!
spiderssnakesvasespiderwebThe rest of the supplies came from the dollar store and Michaels. All in all, a super cheap but fun centerpiece.
spiderwebonglassvaseI wrapped my vase in the spider webbing and use a few pieces of tape to hold it in. I then added in the dried hydrangeas.
snakesspidershydrangeacenterpieceAll that was left to do was to tuck in my spiders and snakes!
creepyeleganthalloweencenterpieceDone!! A creepy and elegant Halloween centerpiece for your dining room table! I can’t wait for Halloween…

Your center piece is great, every bit as scarey and awesome as Martha’s altho I can’t stand snakes. Just to see phoney ones I get creepies down my back.
What can I say, guess it’s a fetish or paranoia of mine. To each his own huh?
    Happy weekend.

Love the snakes!! Your creepy hydrangeas makes for the perfect Halloween centerpiece!

    • Consie Sindet September 28, 2013 at 12:35 pm

Thanks, Ann! I am not a big fan of snakes in any form but couldn’t resist adding them in! They are the ultimate in creepy to me!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I love how it’s versatile enough that you can change the flowers/colors too {and it’s cheap!} If you’re ever looking for new recipes to try or DIY ideas, I’d love for you to visit me at Domestic Femme.

Love the hydrangeas with the creepies. You are such a creative and versatile artist. Even the cloth on the table. Is that what I think it is? Great fall covering to finish it off.

    Love, MA

Yikes! This is super creepy; so creepy that I don’t know if I could take it…the snakes…
Ah, Thanks for sharing this one.

    • Consie Sindet September 29, 2013 at 9:55 am

Lol!! I hate snakes myself but found I was ok to work with the fake ones. Although if I saw one of these out of the corner of my eye I might have a fit!

I happen to love snakes and spiders and they are appropriately creepy for the season. Love the arrangement.

I never thought to mix creepy and elegant, but you certainly made it work 🙂

  • Shannah @ Just Us Four October 2, 2013 at 2:22 pm

I love how this turned out. It is just the right amount of creepy for me.

Cool! Great idea to wrap the vase in that webbing.

  • Antonella October 3, 2013 at 7:26 pm

Wow – this is fantastic… Love the way you incorporated the Halloween theme… Can I borrow your neighbor’s tree? Love hydrangeas, but can’t get them to grow past the deer eating them to the ground every time I try, lol! I’m also pinning this.

As soon as I read this post the first thing that came to mind was the song “I don’t like spiders and snakes, and that ain’t what it takes to love me. You fool, you fool.” Thanks for the shot of good memories! In case you aren’t entirely sure WHAT I’m going on about – youtube Spiders and Snakes by Jim Stafford 🙂
