Sometimes I need a reminder to stop looking and planning too far ahead and just take it One Day At A Time!

Colorful stenciling against a black background using stencils from The Crafter's Workshop• AtopSerenityHill.com #artjournaling #stencils #mixedmediaI thought I would share a colorful art journal page that I did as part of the design team for The Crafter’s Workshop inspired by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s work.

I had used an old key card…one of my favorite tools to apply paint quickly. I gathered four stencils (TCW527: Word Association, TCW519S: Mini Hummingbirds, TCW528S: Mini Daily Buzz, TCW548S: Mini Herbarium), a pencil, a Sharpie pen, a PITT big brush pen in black, a Signo Uni-ball white gel pen and had some fun playing!

I mixed and matched letters as I needed to create all the words except Time and hand drew the number one.

I then outlined all of the patterns with a Sharpie pen to make it easier to see the design.

I love how stunning the background colors are against all that black! It really makes the design pop and leaves me with a great reminder to slow down and take One Day At A Time.
