One of my favorite bloggers, Blazer Designs, added a fun challenge to Instagram for the month of February…make a pattern everyday using whatever you like. The hashtag is #28patterns if you would like to follow along and see what everyone is making.
I have been making all of my patterns on 3.5″x4.75″ watercolor sheets that came in a pad I found in my stash and have used all sorts of supplies to make the designs! Left: watercolor background; stamped circles with a handcarved stamp; Micron pen doodles; Signo Uni-ball white gel pen
highlights. Right: handcarved stamp; Micron pen doodles; shading with a Stabilo pencil
and waterbrush
.
Left: stamped grid done with a hot glue stencil/stamp; Washi tape. Right: all doodling done with a Sharpie pen and an Infinity marker
.
Left: Leftover paper from this card project glued to paper; shading with an Inktense pencil
and waterbrush; doodling with Micron pen. Right: Handcarved stamped center and petals; doodling with Micron pens.
Left: Colored pencil abstract design. Right: Circles are handcarved stamps; doodling with Sharpie pen.
Left: Colored pencil hearts; lines with Micron pen; shading with Stabilo pencil and waterbrush. Right: Inktense pencil colors with Micron pen lines.
I’ll have a pretty collection of cards when I’m done and have a fun idea of how to use them to decorate my studio! Stay tuned…
I link up at these parties!
